This week, Northland’s Senior Pastor, Dr. Joel C. Hunter is attending the General Assembly of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA). Established in 1846, WEA is a network of churches in 128 nations to give a worldwide identity, voice and platform to more than 420 million evangelical Christians! Dr. Hunter has served as a member of WEA’s board for several years now.

During Services this past weekend, Pastor Joel commented on this conference and the setting (Thailand). What a touching first hand account of the horrendous sin and child slavery that takes place in this country. If I had one prayer to be answered, it would be for the children of the world to be set free from this type of exploitation. Kudos to Dr. Hunter for doing his part in drawing attention to this deplorable situation. I hope, as a church body, we can do more to eradicate child prostitution in Thailand and elsewhere.
I second what Noel said…child prostitution is a horrible stain on humanity, and needs to be eliminated.
Certainly, Christians should be leading the way to end this scourge.
We as a church body should support any program that is on the front line fighting this deplorable situation. There is only one other deprivaty worse then this , and that is the daily slaughter of the unborn.
Walt et al. I agree with you; not much more gut wrenching than the perverted destruction and abuse of the innocent. So sad that there really is not a nation on the Earth (including America) that is truly consistent in standing up for all the innocent, and seeing that things like this do not happen. It is angering, and really makes you understand the Biblical images of Jesus as a triumphant and terrible (by which I mean “inspiring terror”) horse-rider with a cloak dripped in blood. A time for accountability will come either in this life or the next for the perpetrators of violations of the innocent such as sex-trafficking as well as the nations and societies that have allowed such atrocities to flourish (and even be govt. sanctioned) in their midst. Thailand is only but one of many places this occurs (even pockets of it in the US, such as the child-porn rings that seem to be discovered seemingly every week and month.)
