BENEFITS

For Service Providers

Provides online real-time information about social services available to the local community.

Assures confidentiality by providing information in a secured system.

Decreases duplication of client intakes and assessments.

Tracks client outcomes and provides a client history.

Generates data reports for local use to meet state and federal requirements (HUD).

Facilitates the coordination of services internally with other agencies and programs.

Provides access to a database of service providers and allows agency staff to easily select a referral agency.

In-network agencies will have a potentially large volunteer staff base through churches, and other agencies who can enter in profile information from outside locations and help manage cases.

For Clients

Intake information and needs assessments are maintained within the system so the number of times a client must repeat profile information is reduced.

The opportunity to provide intake and life history one time demonstrates that service providers consider a clients time is valuable and restores some client dignity.

Multiple services can be easily coordinated and referrals streamlined.

Shared information will provide a more streamlined and client friendly approach to already strenuous situations. This system will allow the client and agency to focus on fixing the problem.

Local and State Government

Better able to define and understand the extent of homelessness, and public assistance in general throughout Central Florida.

Focus staff and financial resources to those geographical areas; allocate agencies and programs where services are needed most.

Ability to report on current state and local needs to match federal reporting requirements.

Churches

Connect to a wide variety of resources to better provide assistance to those being served.

Resource Point was established to create the opportunity for life change through tangible resources. Churches can assist in getting the community to the correct resource. This will allow churches to provide for tangible needs while continuing to supply spiritual help and direction.

Resource Point will allow for more exposure of church activities, needs, and services on a public web portal (Increased Advertizement).

Creates the opportunity for the church to refer needs they can’t or are not called to provide and become more efficient, effective, and purposeful with their time and resource.

Trained Resource Advocates will become a unique service that the church can provide to local community agencies.

Through Resource Point government, non-profit, and church organizations will be able to pool their resources to provide a more holistic approach to meeting the needs of the community. Collaborating agencies will be able to focus more on what they can provide while having the ability to make real-time referrals to agencies that are equipped to answer the needs of their clients. The benefits of Resource Point will not only be measured through program completion or statistics but ultimatly through the changing face of the individuals and families which make up our local communities.

What Is Resource Point?

Resource Point is a web-based tool that will allow its networked partners (churches, social service agencies, non-profits, government organizations and other similar providers) to take a holistic approach to meeting the needs of its community and beyond. Wherever you are you will be able to connect resources to those in need and have the ability to meet those needs through connected collaborating agencies and organizations. This network of organizations and agencies will essentially work hand in hand in the process of providing for those in need. Your partners could potentially include those agencies you already work with and those you did not know existed.

Resource Point encapsulates three different but collaborating tools: A client management system (Advocacy Tool) that includes numerous features to help service organizations manage their client base… intake, needs assessment, case management, and reporting. Other tools included are web based public portals Community Tool (resource database and search  engine), and Housing Tool (affordable housing). The Advocacy tool is designed to have complete control over who can view and access data and utilizes secure internet based technology to assist agencies and organizations in capturing, managing and reporting information about clients that they serve. This web-based tool and its networked partners will allow a providing organization the ability to become an advocate walking side by side with those you serve. As a networked partner, you can create a case management profile which will allow you to apply case goals, notes, and defined time tables or just simply make your services known. An advocate could virtually walk beside someone who is without hope to the point where their needs both presenting and underlying can be met. This ability will lead your organization to become more than a place that hands out temporary solutions but ultimately becomes an agent of life change.

How Does Resource Point Work?

Filed Under (Resource Point) by David Velazquez on 03-06-2008

Resource Point and its tools Advocacy, Community, and Housing are all part of a web based system which will allow its users to connect people in need to resources within the community. If your organization can benefit from the use of an online real-time information system that will connect needs to services then the Advocacy tool is meant for you. If you are seeking to simply make your organizational services and volunteer needs known to the public then the Community tool may be best. Lastly, if someone walks into your doors in need of affordable housing then the Housing tool might be best suited for you at that time. Resource Point utilizes these three tools to bring a variety of different services to those in need.
Advocacy tool
This will allow users to provide case management, track clients, provide a secure information system, and generate reports for local use which meet state and federal requirements. The strengths of this tool are its stringent security protocols, information management capabilities, and its ability to refer clients to services an organization would not normally have access to on its own. (This is not a public portal and fees may apply)
Community Tool
This is a community service secure public tool available via the internet to anyone who logs on to the website. Community Tool is a powerful website application to increase public access to community social service resources provided by different organizations (e.g. non-profit, governmental, agencies, churches). The public can access an organization’s profile (description of services)within the central Florida area, search for an organization providing a specific service, view an organization’s wish list for volunteers and tangible donations or view an organization’s calendar such as fundraisers, holiday meal days, and volunteer days.
Housing tool
This is a community service secure public tool available via the internet to better connect providers of housing and housing services to renters who are looking for specific types of affordable housing opportunities. The goal is to provide renters, landlords and property managers, and housing agency staff access to up-to-date housing information through a tool that is customized for each user group. Housing Tool is an easy-to-use website that allows you to search for affordable, available rental housing throughout the Central Florida region, including Lake, Volusia, Seminole, Orange, Polk, Bevard, Osceola counties. It allows users to do a detailed search, such as by area, school district, the size of apartment and much more. Once a match is presented to the prospective renter, the site assists in establishing a direct channel of communications between property owner or manager for the purpose of efficiently communicating the rental agreement. The strength of this tool is the ability for system users (agencies) to refer their clients or to find affordable housing for themselves (individuals in need) which will in turn fill your unoccupied listings with potentially pre-qualified tenants.
